WHO IS ARTHUR ZANG?
Arthur Zang is a computer engineer born in 1987 in Mbankomo, Cameroon.
He studied in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. He graduated in Computer Engineering, Design and Software Engineering.
During an internship in a cardiology ( that is the medicine that deals with the heart ), Arthur Zang had an idea.
Later, this idea gave birth to the great Cardio Pad, which can help people with heart disease.
We will explain what exactly the Cardio Pad is after the colouring picture.

WHAT IS THE CARDIO PAD?
The Cardio Pad by Arthur Zang is the first medical tablet developed on the African continent.
The Cardio Pad helps doctors diagnose heart diseases – for example, electrocardiograms (ECGs) can be performed. The results are then sent to other doctors for interpretation via mobile data.
Because it is battery-powered, it can be used anywhere, even if there is no electricity. In this way, people in rural regions in particular can be helped.
In Cameroon, there are only a few cardiologists – these are the doctors who try to help people whose hearts are sick. Most of them work in Douala and Yaoundé and have not been able to treat people who live too far away.
Thanks to the Cardio Pad, lives can now be saved!

My name is Geraldine Mua, I am a social worker and I come from Cameroon. I run an accommodation for refugees.
I am active as a volunteer in several migrant organisations in Potsdam:
African Vision Potsdam ( Chairperson 01.01.2017 – 31.12.2019).
FEM- Forum des Empowerements und Teilhabe für Migranten e.V ( Chairwoman 01.01.2020 until today)
NEMIB e.V ( Deputy Chairperson since 01.01.2021)
As part of my voluntary work, I conduct empowerment seminars for women and refugees. In addition, I give workshops for children and young people in which I present, for example, the different areas of everyday life in Cameroon.
